Poor Copper!

As you can see, Copper's ears are quite big and floppy. Well, a few weeks ago I brought him in one morning and he was acting like his right ear was hurting him. I felt around it and he would whimper any time I barely touched him. I knew beagles are known to get ear infections so I thought I would take him to the vet to get some ear drops to clean it out.

When we got there they found that a foxtail from a weed was up against his ear drum. It was of course no simple procedure to pull it out and came with no simple price tag either. Copper had to go under anesthesia and have the foxtail removed.
I took a picture of the foxtails from our backyard up close. Those are not nice little weeds!! When I went to pick Copper up later that evening, they told me that when they tried to remove the week it punctured his ear drum and they had to charge me for further medications that he needed (of course).

That night Copper was so sad and cried. His ear bled for awhile. Two days later he was fine and back to his normal crazy self. We kept some of his pain meds just in case we need to calm him down sometime ;) They gave us the foxtail that was in his ear and it was pretty big. Who know a dog could be so expensive?! Good thing he is so cute!
