(The Lone Pine)
This past Saturday Brett and I did a fun hike together on what seemed to be the perfect day to be outside. We went to Weaver's Needle. We got to see the lone pine at the top and see the big random thumb looking mountain within the superstition mountains. It was a blast! We could tell that we are getting older though by the pains we felt as we descended back to the car. My knees were aching, Brett's ankles were flaring up and my legs were definitely shaking but it was too great of a hike to think about our deteriorating bodies. We aren't that old yet!!!!!!!!! On the way up we found that we made our own trail up the mountain. This is when I said, "Life is like a mountain, and you can't try to take short cuts cuz you usually go the long way around." We probably did go a little bit more adventurous way but not the long way around for sure. It's fun talking about the philosophies of "life" and what it means to us on these hikes! We look forward to next weekend's hike...
We hike every week too! I'm not sure what the mountains are called that we go to but my favorite is the one in Gold canyon. We went to another one in San Tan two weeks ago and it was so crazy hot and hard, I may have cried. hahah we also bring Giana along which makes it even more difficult because I am so afraid of falling.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I can't imagine carrying a baby as well as trying to balance up the mountain. You must be brave!! We should go together sometime! That would be so fun! It gives us a good workout without being so focused on "working out" :)
